After a three year hiatus, June Jazz for the Gardens returned to the Woman's Club to a sellout crowd. Nearly 100 guests enjoyed the music of the Hiroshi Yamazaki Trio and singer Nicole Pasternak. Guests were able to enjoy the beautiful clubhouse as well as the lovely gardens and patio. It was a spectacular night, the music and the weather both wonderful and the food, as always, delicious.
The Woman’s Club Foundation has launched an ongoing project: ~Welcome to Your Home Kits - 200 Acts of Kindness~ These kits of cleaning supplies are being donated to families and young adults aging out of foster care as they move into permanent housing. Their needs are great and these donations will help them set up their new homes. Each kit contains a trash can filled with cleaning supplies, sponges, paper towels, trash bags, several all-purpose cleaners and dish soap. Our goal is to provide 200 kits per year.
Well, we did not let the virus keep us for our annual tradition of supplying cookies to families for their Thanksgiving dinners. Although we did not do any in-house baking, our members were busy in their own kitchens. We were able to put together packages for 207 families and had leftovers to donate to Open Arms. Thanks to all who helped out and we look forward to being back in the Woman's Club kitchen next year!
