During the year, fundraising events are held to benefit a variety of local causes including local charities as well as scholarships for White Plains High School students. There are also volunteer events during the year that support the community including our newly added Thrift Shop, Baking for Salvation Army and Cooking for Lifting Up Westchester. The Woman’s Club of White Plains Foundation has launched an ongoing project: ~Welcome to Your Home Kits - 200 Acts of Kindness ~ Assisting families moving into permanent housing. You can sponsor a Welcome to Your Home Kit of cleaning supplies for $25.00 by donating below or by check to: The Woman's Club of White Plains Foundation ~ 305 Ridgeway, White Plains, NY 10605 Thank you for your act of kindness!
Personal Care Kits - 200 Acts of Kindness The Woman's Club identified a need of families displaced from their homes by fire, flood or other natural disasters, often with only the clothes on their backs. A laundry bag containing towels for 2-4 persons, soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors and other toilettries is packaged and delivered as needed to these families.
Birthday Boxes - 200 Acts of Kindness Many families of children enrolled in Head Start programs suffer terrible financial strain and the children often do not receive any birthday presents. An initiative has been started to donate an educational toy that can be given to a child in the program on his/her birthday.
